About Our Founder:

Grace Nunery founded Indiana Deaf Camp Foundation, Inc. in 1973 with a desire to provide a camping experience for all Deaf children and their families, regardless of their ability to pay.  She captured the hearts of many people during her years of service.  Grace was the recipient of many awards for her giving heart and service to the community, which included the 1990 Indiana Jefferson Award, the American Institute for Public Service Award presented by Senator Dan Coates, the 1999 Mayor Goldsmith Volunteer Partnership Award, Sertoma Service to Mankind Award, and the 1971 Goshen Outstanding Woman of the Year Award.  Even though Grace displayed gratitude for these awards, her true reward was seeing the smile, laughter, and fellowship of the many children and adults touched by the organization.  Grace’s vision of Indiana Deaf Camp Foundation, Inc. lives on through the generous guidance and assistance of many volunteers and donations of many generous donors.
